In short

Limevale Lending, a small-business funding broker in Trenton, New Jersey, compares six routes: working capital, term loans, lines of credit, inventory financing, equipment financing and merchant cash advances. The table below shows how each is repaid and what partners usually review. Each partner, never Limevale, makes the decision and sets the terms.

Matching the term to the purchase

Rule of thumb from E State St: the funding should last about as long as the thing it pays for. Payroll that bridges a slow-paying customer is a short need; an exhaust hood or a dental chair will earn money for years. Financing a long-lived asset with a short product squeezes cash flow, and stretching a short need over years means paying for money long after it did its job.

A credit line sits between the two: you draw for short needs, repay, and draw again.

Secured or unsecured

Secured funding pledges something a partner could claim if payments stop: the equipment itself, the stock, receivables or a general lien on business assets. Unsecured funding has no specific collateral but often comes with a personal-guarantee clause, and partners usually price the extra risk. Ask which one you are being offered, and read the security section of any agreement before you sign.

Business card versus business loan

Cards suit small, frequent purchases you clear quickly. Once a balance lingers, or the purchase is large and one-off, an installment product or a credit line is usually easier to plan around because the payment and payoff date are known. Whatever you choose, keep business spending on business accounts; partners read those statements.

SBA-backed lending and this site

SBA-backed loans are made by participating lenders, not by the SBA and not by Limevale Lending. Limevale leaves those to participating lenders. If an SBA-backed loan looks right for your plan, a participating lender or a free adviser is the place to ask; the Mercer County, NJ resources guide explains where Trenton-area owners can look for free help.

What any funding can and cannot be used for

Partners fund business purposes: stock, equipment, payroll, rent, fit-outs, marketing, refinancing business debt. Personal expenses, consumer purchases and paying yourself out of borrowed money are a different matter, and most agreements state permitted uses. Ask the partner directly if a planned use is unclear, and keep receipts that show where the money went.

Mercer County, NJ owners and the six routes

Small firms dominate the county: 5,209 of Mercer County's 9,683 employer establishments had fewer than five employees in 2023 (CBP), and 35,660 businesses ran with no payroll in 2024 (Nonemployer Statistics). For businesses that size, the route that fits is usually the one whose repayment rhythm matches the deposits in the bank statement, because that is what partners read first.

Before you pick a route

  1. Write down what the money pays for and the date each bill is due.
  2. Estimate when that spending starts earning or saving money.
  3. Pull six to twelve months of business bank statements.
  4. Check that the business name on your account matches your filed records.
  5. Call us, or read the request process first.

  2. Talk through the fit

We compare repayment styles against the way cash comes into the business.

The request goes to lending partners; they ask for documents and they decide.

  4. Read every term

Before you sign, check payment, total cost, prepayment wording and any personal-guarantee clause.

Questions Owners Ask

Secured or unsecured: how do the two business loans differ?

A secured loan pledges collateral such as equipment or stock. An unsecured loan has no specific collateral, but many include a personal-guarantee clause, and pricing often reflects the extra risk.

Can an LLC in New Jersey apply for business funding?

Yes. An LLC, a corporation or a sole proprietor can apply; partners look at the business's records and, often, the owners' credit.

Does Limevale Lending arrange SBA-backed loans?

No. Participating lenders make those loans. We cover the six routes on this page.

Which route is cheapest?

There is no single answer. Compare total cost over the life of each offer, not just the payment, and ask how early payoff is treated.
